Metal Terminal Blocks
Copper: Copper is a common material for terminal blocks due to its excellent electrical conductivity, ease of processing, and relatively low cost. However, copper surfaces are prone to oxidation, which reduces conductivity; therefore, measures must be taken to prevent rust and oxidation. Additionally, copper is relatively soft and easily deformed, requiring careful control of processing techniques and material thickness.
Aluminum: Aluminum is also frequently used for terminal blocks; it is lightweight, offers good thermal and electrical conductivity, and is less expensive than copper. However, aluminum oxidizes more readily than copper, necessitating special anti-oxidation measures. It also has lower strength than copper, limiting the number of times it can be bent and requiring precautions against deformation during transport.
Plastic Terminal Blocks
PC Material: Polycarbonate (PC) is characterized by high-temperature resistance, wear resistance, and high hardness. It offers a long service life, meeting requirements for extended use.
PA Material: Polyamide (PA) is a common material for terminal blocks. It is tough, heat-resistant, impact-resistant, and flexible. However, it is prone to deformation at extreme temperatures, so temperature and processing methods must be carefully controlled.
Other Materials
Silicone: Silicone is a material with excellent elasticity and high-temperature resistance; it is commonly used for sealing and waterproofing socket terminals.
Alloys: Alloys possess good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance and are used in specific applications.
